Toma is assembling a high-caliber team of engineers, product leaders, former founders, and operators from companies including Scale AI, Uber, Braze, Microsoft, Amazon, and others. The team values talent, ambition, and execution, regardless of background.
About the Role
Toma is looking for a Senior or Staff Software Engineer to build and own net-new products and core platform features. This is a deeply hands-on individual contributor role with significant ownership over architecture, implementation, and delivery. You’ll work closely with product and design to ship fast, reliable, and high-quality user experiences while helping scale the platform as the company grows.
What You Will Do
Lead the architecture, implementation, and delivery of user-facing products, including dashboards, real-time voice AI experiences, and internal support tooling
Write high-quality, production-grade TypeScript across the full stack using modern frameworks
Own features end to end, from technical design through deployment and iteration
Mentor and guide engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical planning
Collaborate closely with Product and Design to align on priorities and execute quickly
Partner with other engineering pods to integrate intelligent features into the broader platform
Maintain strong engineering velocity while ensuring system reliability and health
Work directly with customers to translate feedback into scalable product improvements
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of experience building and scaling full-stack web applications
Strong experience with TypeScript across frontend and backend systems
Experience with technologies such as React, Next.js, Node.js or Bun, PostgreSQL, and modern authentication and API patterns
Experience leading projects or serving as a technical owner in fast-paced environments
Comfort balancing speed and quality, with strong attention to engineering craft
Desire to continuously learn, improve systems, and take on increasing responsibility
Bonus points for side projects, prior startup experience, or work at top technology companies
Level Expectations
This role is open at the Senior or Staff level depending on experience, scope ownership, and technical leadership demonstrated during the interview process
