MANTECH seeks a motivated and experienced Senior Staff for CFO Act Compliance to join our team. You will lead a high-performing team supporting DoD Agency Financial Statements Audit readiness and remediation. This role is mission-critical, offering leadership in financial improvement strategy, audit response coordination, and implementation of internal controls across a classified Air Force environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leading oversight of Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) activities in support of CFO Act compliance
Guiding the development and execution of strategy for audit remediation and financial improvement across classified Air Force programs
Serving as the primary liaison between government stakeholders and external auditors
Documenting business processes and internal controls in accordance with FASAB and GAAP standards
Performing and reviewing substantive and analytical procedures for audit readiness
Leading asset accountability and valuation initiatives
Identifying, managing, and tracking corrective action plans for audit findings
Ensuring quality assurance across deliverables and mentoring junior team members
Compiling and presenting financial data to inform government decision-makers
Providing expert recommendations on complex accounting issues
Minimum Qualifications:
8+ years of experience supporting DoD financial management functions
4+ years of experience managing CFO Act compliance efforts, including interdisciplinary coordination (Acquisition, Logistics, Financial Reporting) in similar-sized organizations
2+ years of audit or audit readiness management experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field — or 5+ years of equivalent field experience
Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain TS/SCI and JAFAN eligibility
Strong command of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
In-depth understanding of GAO Yellow Book and Federal Accounting Standards (FASAB)
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Demonstrated ability to lead compliance presentations and financial briefings
Proven supervisory experience with minimal need for oversight
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
CPA or CGFM certification
Experience with Air Force or classified financial systems
Prior work directly supporting the CFO Act Audit or FIAR efforts
Security Clearance Requirements:
Must have a current/active TS/SCI security clearance
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Must occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Must be able to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, and exchange accurate information clearly in these situations.
The projected compensation range for this position is $119,900.00-$199,600.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
