We are seeking an experienced Test Engineering Lead to own and drive the test strategy for our products. This role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on expertise in product test planning, production test systems, field device debugging, and validation of off-the-shelf devices The Test Engineering Lead will guide a team of test engineers, collaborate with design and system teams, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable products to the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of test engineers, ensuring effective execution of test plans and professional development.
  • Own and drive Product Test Plans (PTP)across product lifecycles, from development to production and field validation.
  • Oversee and enhance Production Test Systems (PTS)for consistency, scalability, and accuracy of test results.
  • Direct efforts in field device debugging, including reproduction of issues, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Lead validation of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) devicesfor integration, interoperability, and performance.
  • Define and enforce test standards, methodologies, and documentation practices.
  • Ensure defects are systematically tracked, analysed, and resolved in collaboration with design, firmware, and hardware teams.
  • Drive automation of test procedures to improve coverage and efficiency.
  • Coordinate cross-functional reviews of test results, metrics, and reports with stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, tools, and infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in product/system testing, with at least 2–3 years in a lead or senior role.
  • Proven expertise in product test planning and execution
  • Strong exposure to Production Test Systems (PTS) and automated test equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to debug and resolve issues in field devices (hardware + embedded software).
  • Experience validating off-the-shelf (COTS) devices for product integration.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols (Camera Mipi interface, PCIe, CAN, USB, eMMC, RS232, RF, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools (JIRA, TestRail, etc.).
  • Strong leadership, team management, and stakeholder communication skills.

Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)

  • Exposure to compliance/regulatory testing (EMI/EMC, thermal, vibration, safety).
  • Experience in scripting/automation (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, or Shell).
  • Field deployment or customer-facing debugging experience.
