Job Description

Job Title: Senior Staff Accountant – Accounts Payable

Job Status: Salary Exempt

Job Summary: Process all accounts payables, general ledger adjusting journal entries; account reconciliations; bank reconciliations, and credit card reconciliations, and assist with the audit prep. This individual will serve as a back-up for grant and contract billing and accounts receivables.

Essential Functions:

1) Manage all aspects of Accounting Activities for the Agency and its affiliates, including:

2) Track and record all appropriate expenses related to government contracts and funding reports to provide accurate invoices to funders.

3) Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and accruals on a monthly basis;

4) Participate in and prepare for annual audits and monitoring by grantors;

5) Prepare Intercompany reconciliation work papers.

Other Duties

1) Upload invoices and copies of payments into Sage Intacct;

2) Serve as backup for the Grant Senior Accountant;

3) Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

Qualifications:

· Bachelor of Science degree in accounting

· Demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written;

· Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite applications;

· Highly analytical and organized with attention to deadlines, priorities and details;

· Team-oriented, self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision and attention to deadlines.

(Preferred)

· 5+ Years Experience in non-profit accounting;

· Experience in government funding and management;

· Sage Intacct accounting software knowledge is a plus.
