About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Specialist to join our SME and Corporate Protectors team at RHB Banking Group. In this role, you will oversee risk assessment and underwriting for SME and Corporate businesses, while driving innovative product development and alternate business platform initiatives. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and RHB Bank to deliver profitable growth, enhance customer journeys, and scale impactful solutions aligned with business objectives.
What you will be doing
Oversee risk assessment and underwriting for SME & Corporate business, including conducting risk surveys, providing quotations, and customizing policy wording and coverage
Evaluate risks in accordance with underwriting standards, authority limits, business rules, and regulatory guidelines to ensure sustainable and profitable growth
Support the establishment of an automated business platform capable of generating immediate quotations to secure quality business
Develop easy-to-sell and easy-to-claim products targeting SME segments, including innovative and differentiated solutions
Build and strengthen collaboration with RHB Bank (SME and Corporate segments) to drive cross-referrals and business growth
Identify new business opportunities and strategize marketing approaches to penetrate profitable SME markets
Mobilize and coordinate internal teams across underwriting, marketing, and operations to deliver client solutions effectively
Support Squad Lead in planning, operationalizing, and scaling developed solutions while ensuring alignment to journey vision and budget
Analyze data, research, and reports to identify insights; prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
Coach and guide team members on conducting risk assessments, underwriting evaluations, and structuring appropriate coverage
What we're looking for
5–8 years of experience in underwriting, SME/Corporate insurance, or commercial lines
Strong technical underwriting knowledge with experience in risk surveys and policy customization
Good understanding of SME and Corporate customer segments and distribution strategies
Experience in product development, process improvement, or digital platform initiatives is an added advantage
Strong analytical, reporting, and presentation skills
Leadership capabilities with experience guiding or mentoring team members
Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
