At Orica, our people spark ideas, shape progress, and grow together. For over 150 years, we’ve worked alongside communities to deliver the resources that build our future.
Today, we’re leading the way in mining and civil blasting through innovation, automation, and a strong commitment to safety, sustainability, and respect for the lands and waters where we operate.
Orica’s Yarwun Manufacturing Facility, located near Gladstone, is one of our most significant manufacturing sites globally and plays a critical role in supplying chemicals to support mining and infrastructure projects across Australia and the Asia Pacific region.
The facility is proudly embedded in the Gladstone community, directly employing over 250 local people and offering long term careers in a safe, high performing environment, with strong involvement in local industry, education, and community initiatives.
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Senior Specialist – SHES to join our Yarwun site based team. In this role, you will be a trusted safety leader, partnering closely with site leadership to ensure regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement across personal safety on-site. You will also work closely with your peers to support health, environment, security and emergency response compliance and improvement initiatives.
This is a hands on, influential role suited to an experienced SHES professional who enjoys working in a complex, high risk manufacturing environment and making a visible impact every day. At the discretion of the business, the role operates on a 9 day fortnight roster, allowing you to enjoy a day off every two weeks.
At Orica, we believe in growing together. You’ll learn from experienced mentors, work in a team that values respect for people and the land, and build a career in a safe, supportive environment.
We offer competitive remuneration, hands on training, and opportunities to thrive in a culture that celebrates diversity, collaboration, and continuous improvement — all while living and working in the vibrant Gladstone region.
