Senior Specialist SAP Finance & Controlling

Key responsibilities

• Own business process management and functional consultancy across SAP Finance and Controlling, including application configuration, development coordination and customizing.
• Support and optimize SAP FI processes, including Accounts Payable (FI-AP), Accounts Receivable (FI-AR), Fixed Asset Accounting (FI-AA), General Ledger Accounting (FI-GL), Bank Accounting, Invoice Verification, Tax and Treasury.
• Support and optimize SAP CO processes, including Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Product Cost Controlling and Profitability Analysis.
• Analyze end-to-end Finance and Controlling processes, identify improvement opportunities and develop sustainable solution proposals in close collaboration with global functions and Business Process Owners.
• Translate business requirements into process designs, functional specifications, configuration concepts and implementable work packages.
• Provide senior business consultancy and advisory expertise to support a standardized, future-proof global template on the journey to SAP S/4HANA.
• Collaborate with internal team members, business stakeholders and external implementation partners to determine the best functional and technical fit.
• Lead or take responsibility for business-related projects, workstreams and sub-projects, including planning, requirements management, risk coordination and delivery follow-up.
• Define test scenarios, coordinate functional and user acceptance testing, manage defects and support successful implementation and stabilization.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, authorization concepts and Finance governance standards.
• Support knowledge transfer, process documentation, training and effective adoption of new Finance and Controlling solutions.

You bring these skills, experience & education

• Degree in business informatics, business administration, Finance, Accounting or a comparable field, or alternatively several years of relevant professional experience.
• Professional knowledge of SAP FI and SAP CO, supported by practical experience in configuration, process design and application support.
• Strong understanding of integrated Finance and Controlling processes and their dependencies across the enterprise.
• Cross-functional SAP ERP experience in Sales and Distribution (SD) and Materials Management (MM) is desirable.
• SAP S/4HANA experience, including S/4HANA Private Cloud and/or S/4HANA Public Cloud, is preferred.
• Technical skills in SAP development and extensibility, including working knowledge of ABAP programming, debugging, CDS views, SAP Fiori and typical ERP enhancements.
• Project management experience using established agile and/or traditional delivery methodologies.
• Ability to translate complex ideas and requirements into structured approaches, clear decisions and pragmatic solutions.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and presentation skills.
• Solution-oriented mindset with a strong affinity for new technologies, process harmonization, automation and standardization.
• Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional and multicultural environment.
• Fluent English communication skills; German language skills are an advantage.
