The Senior Specialist Regulatory Affairs exists as a fully autonomous position mastering regulatory affairs technical scope, capable of leading complex high level regulatory support for complex projects &/or platforms, with guidance and supervision in very exceptional cases.

How you will contribute

You will implement the regulatory affairs strategy and work with cross-functional teams to anticipate regulatory business risks and opportunities. In addition, you will provide regulatory affairs expertise for technical regulatory developments and help with responses to challenges and crisis management. In this role, you will ensure that ingredients, product composition, claims and labelling is in compliance with regulations and company policies, provide guidance to stakeholders on regulatory affairs, propose and implement business solutions in response to regulatory changes, and maintain and develop a strong knowledge of regulatory, scientific and nutrition risks and opportunities in your corresponding market.

The following list provides examples of typical tasks (not an exhaustive list) associated with the role:

  • Reviews and approves raw materials, recipes and finished products compliance.
  • Validates high complexity claims, including claims on pack, advertisement and other media.
  • Generates labelling specifications, being fully accountable for their accuracy.
  • Conducts Artwork.
  • Approval Provides proactive regulatory guidance; capable of leading platform initiatives, not only projects.
  • Leads & advise on response on general enquiries from authorities, challenges and crisis management.
  • Interacts and communicates with multiple functions and levels of the organization.
  • Acts as a mentor/resource for guidance of junior members of the area; potentially could hold accountability for direct junior team member reports.

What you will bring

  • Ideally 3 years of Regulatory affairs experience (industry, governmental, association background) and/or thorough mastering & understanding of the regulatory framework and core knowledge topics (e.g. flavors, additives, GMO, organic, dietary or religious suitability, etc.).
  • Autonomy to conduct technical assessments and experience supporting issues management.
  • Advanced standing alone, problem solving, and decision making skills
  • Building collaborative relationships.
  • Thinking creatively.
  • Communicating effectively and fluently in English.
  • Project management.
  • Basic business accumen.
  • Self motivation ability.
