
The Senior Specialist, Operation Applications, reports directly to the Supervisor, Operation Applications. This role is responsible for the delivery and support of the Quorum product stack. Additionally, this role requires actively working, and aligning solutions, with both IT and non-IT groups throughout Cheniere.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Provide day-to-day support for oil and gas business applications, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, and user assistance
Analyze application issues using SQL queries and database investigation techniques
Support software enhancements, testing activities, deployments, and production support processes
Participate in requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders
Develop and maintain:
Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
Functional Design Documents (FDDs)
Technical Design Documents (TDDs)
Test plans and testing coordination documentation
Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) efforts
Work closely with development, infrastructure, and business teams throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Assist with report development, troubleshooting reports, and data validation activities
Create and maintain support documentation, wiki pages, and operational procedures
Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Strong SQL knowledge, including querying, troubleshooting, and data analysis
Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Basic coding and debugging knowledge
Familiarity with IIS, services, scheduled jobs, APIs, or middleware platforms
Basic understanding of networking, server environments, and application hosting concepts
Basic experience using Azure DevOps
Knowledge of enterprise applications, support processes and change management practices
Experience documenting:
Requirements gathering
Functional design
Technical design
Testing coordination and execution
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment
Must be available to work onsite daily
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education and Certifications Bachelor’s degree preferred in Information Technology related field of study. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years’ experience supporting Quorum applications (ESUITE, QPTM, Energy Components, QLS)Experience with AVEVA applications (Measurement Advisor, Field Work Tools) is a plus.
Must have the following experience:
Experience with at least one (1) scripting language (Python, PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript, etc.)
Experience with at least one reporting or BI tool (SSRS, Power BI, Cognos, Crystal Reports, Tableau, etc.)
Experience supporting integrations, interfaces, or batch scheduling tools.
Experience supporting software applications within the oil and gas industry

WORK CONDITIONS
Job is performed in a typical office environment, but is subject to time pressures and constraints, and is often dependent on input from others.
Occasionally, work may be performed from home, after normal work hours or on weekends.
Periodically travel as business requires.
