Senior Specialist, Infrastructure Engineer

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of SeniorSpecialist Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. This role is located in Chennai.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

• System reliability: Ensures databases are available, stable, and performing well so business applications run without disruption.
• Performance optimization: Improves query speed, tuning, indexing, and resource usage, which directly affects user experience and operational efficiency.
• Data integrity: Protects the accuracy and consistency of data through proper controls, backup strategies, and recovery processes.
• Security and compliance: Safeguards sensitive data with access controls, encryption, patching, and audit readiness.
• Business continuity: Designs backup, restore, replication, and disaster recovery capabilities to reduce downtime and data loss risk.
• Scalability: Helps the organization grow by planning capacity, modernizing platforms, and supporting new application demands.
• Cost management: Optimizes infrastructure, licensing, storage, and cloud/database consumption to control expenses.
• Change enablement: Supports application releases, migrations, upgrades, and transformations with lower operational risk.
• Incident reduction: Proactively monitors health, resolves root causes, and prevents recurring issues.
• Strategic partnership: Acts as a bridge between infrastructure, application teams, security, and business stakeholders to align data platforms with organizational goals.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

• Bachelor's or higher degree in computer science/ engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
• 8+ years of experience in DB2 Database administration required
• Strong proficiency with DB2, SQL and Git
• Writing, tuning, troubleshooting complex queries
• Proficiency with Data Standards & Data Modelling
• Proficiency in Indexing, execution plans, wait events, memory and storage optimization
• Good understanding of Access controls, encryption, vulnerability awareness, auditing
• Familiarity with testing patterns and dev ops
• Familiarity with Transaction management, locking, concurrency, replication concepts
• Strong Knowledge of Database deployment, migration, version upgrades
• Experience in the securities or financial services industry
• Hands-on experience and working knowledge of using monitoring tools, logs, alerts, capacity metrics, root cause analysis
• Previous experience designing and implementing new systems and features independently
• Understanding and support restore strategies, point-in-time recovery, high availability, disaster recovery
