Job's mission

As Senior Specialist II, Service Operations within ASM’s Global Services & Spares organization, you play a critical role in driving operational excellence across regions. You own and coordinate key global service planning activities—from non-conformance management to resource readiness—ensuring consistency, compliance, and cost control across the business. Working as an individual contributor, you collaborate closely with regional service leaders and global stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality service outcomes that support ASM’s customers worldwide.

What you will be working on

Non‑Conformance (NC) management

  • Act as the global service owner for NC reduction and timely closure across all regions.
  • Lead and participate in weekly NC focus meetings with account teams, KPUs, and cross‑functional partners.
  • Drive weekly reviews with service regions to reduce Draft, Pending Review, and “Need More Information” NCs.
  • Own the creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of NC documentation, training materials, and PSAT/SAP user guides.
  • Represent the Service organization in collaboration with Quality and SAP QM IT teams on NC topics, FSM Smart Forms, and system enhancements.
  • Review and drive resolution of high‑cost and systemic NCs, including participation in cross‑functional task forces.
  • Own NC cost reclassification and recovery, aligning with KPU GPS, Business Development, GPM, and Finance to enable chargebacks.
  • Provide monthly cost reclassification forecasts and actively drive actual cost recovery.
  • Proactively monitor high‑cost material usage during IQ and warranty phases and drive timely closure.

Resource & ramp readiness

  • Coordinate global service resource allocation based on operational priorities and business demand.
  • Partner with Regional Service Managers to support ramp readiness and staffing at key customer sites, including advanced fab ramps.
  • Align FIT team scheduling with strategic customer programs and key accounts.

Compliance & governance

  • Conduct quarterly tool audits to ensure operational compliance.
  • Perform labor‑hours audits in support of China advanced fab compliance requirements.

Systems, applications & operational support

  • Participate in SAP integration projects and equipment migration initiatives.
  • Support FSM enhancements, including Smart Form improvements.
  • Provide ad‑hoc guidance to Service teams on reporting and cost‑charging processes.
  • Serve as backup IQM during planned absences.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant field service and field operations experience in the electronic or semiconductor industry.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor process equipment support and installation requirements, including spare parts, tooling, training, and documentation.
  • Proven project management and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across regions and cultures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and operate with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote, global environment.

What sets you apart

  • Experience as a Field Service Engineer or Project Management in a semiconductor environment.
  • Operational knowledge of the full process flow from system booking through build, installation qualification, sign‑off, and warranty.
  • Familiarity with ASM equipment platforms and internal processes.
  • Advanced Excel and Power BI capabilities.
  • Strong professional presence with the confidence to influence without direct authority.

About ASM

At ASM, we’re shaping the future at the atomic level. We enable the next generation of microchips by empowering leading semiconductor manufacturers with advanced wafer processing equipment.

Through our mastery of thin-film deposition, we create the innovative tools and solutions that shape the materials at the heart of tomorrow’s technology – powering everything from AI and next-generation healthcare to cloud computing and smarter, more energy-efficient devices.

With over 4,600 people representing more than 60 nationalities across 15 locations worldwide, we’re united by one ambition: to stay ahead of what’s next. And with research centers in seven countries and nearly a quarter of our people and profits devoted to research and development, excellence is our baseline, not our finish line.

Our pioneering thin-film deposition technologies – like atomic layer deposition, epitaxy, silicon carbide, chemical vapor deposition and vertical furnaces – help our customers push the limits of performance, speed, and efficiency. Our strong patent portfolio, flat organization, and agile way of working enable fast collaboration, global mobility, and a competitive edge far beyond our scale.

Every day, we work to make integrated circuits smaller, faster, more energy-efficient, and more powerful. Together, we’re advancing technologies that unlock new potential and improve lives.
