The Senior Associate, Global Logistics, is responsible for supporting the execution and optimization of global transportation operations across air, ocean, road, and small parcel modes. This role contributes to both the strategic and tactical management of logistics activities to ensure the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods across West’s global network.
The Senior Associate partners closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers to maintain high service levels while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in transportation performance, cost, and reliability. This includes supporting initiatives such as freight consolidation, process standardization, and operational enhancements to reduce logistics spend and improve shipment predictability.
This role leverages data analytics to support decision-making, monitors key performance metrics, and assists in driving initiatives aligned with global supply chain objectives, including service reliability, cost optimization, and revenue alignment. The Sr. Specialist also plays a key role in enhancing shipment visibility, supporting order management processes, and ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Procurement, Customer Success, and regional logistics operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day global transportation operations across air, ocean (FCL/LCL), road (FTL/LTL), and small parcel modes to meet business and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external logistics providers to plan, book, and execute shipments, ensuring on-time delivery and proactive issue resolution.
- Serve as a liaison between internal teams (Planning, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Procurement, Finance) and external partners including freight forwarders, carriers, parcel providers, and customs brokers.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and shipping documentation in partnership with Trade Compliance and customs brokers.
- Monitor shipment execution, track performance, and manage exceptions, delays, and escalations with a focus on minimizing disruption to the business.
- Support carrier and vendor management activities including performance monitoring, KPI tracking, and participation in business reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyze freight spend and logistics performance data to identify cost savings opportunities through routing optimization, shipment consolidation, and mode selection.
- Support rate management, contract alignment, and service-level agreements (SLAs) with logistics providers.
- Develop and maintain reporting on key logistics metrics including on-time delivery, freight costs, and operational performance using systems such as SAP and Power BI.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics efficiency, reliability, and service levels across the global network.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support new product launches, network changes, and evolving business needs.
- Communicate shipment status, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency.
- Support revenue recognition accuracy by enabling more predictable and reliable shipment execution and delivery timelines.
- Manage expedited or critical shipments with increased visibility and communication to leadership.
- Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to logistics processes, systems, and provider performance.
- Support special projects and strategic initiatives within Global Logistics.
- POD support for revenue recognition
- Oversee global Order Management booking activities to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant shipment execution across all regions

Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or business related concentrations, or equivalent experience required
- Master's Degree in related fields preferred
Work Experience
- 5+ years of experience in global logistics or transportation management required
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Hands-on experience managing air, ocean (FCL/LCL), road (FTL/LTL), and small parcel shipments
- Strong understanding of international shipping practices, Incoterms, customs processes, and trade compliance
- Experience working with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and parcel providers
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and reporting tools such as Power BI
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable recommendations
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- High attention to detail with strong ownership and accountability
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across cross-functional and global teams
- Experience supporting global or regional logistics networks preferred
- Knowledge of dangerous goods (IATA/IMDG), cold chain, or high-value shipments is a plus
License and Certifications
- ManufacturingCertified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD)-APICS preferred
- ManufacturingCertified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)-APICS preferred
- Program and Project ManagementCertified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI preferred

Travel Requirements
10%: Up to 26 business days per year
Physical Requirements
Sedentary-Exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
