Location: This is an onsite role based at Nextiva’s Bengaluru office (Wilshire III by MFAR, 492, Hobli, RHB Colony, Mahadevapura, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560048). Working together onsite strengthens how we operate, enabling faster decisions, clearer communication, and stronger execution, so you can make a greater impact and move work forward with speed and clarity.
In-Office Expectation: This role is expected to work onsite four days per week, with the potential to increase to five days per week, as required by the business. Specific scheduling and flexibility will be guided by your leader to support both team collaboration and individual productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
- Process monthly payroll accurately and within established timelines
- Validate employee master data, salary revisions, incentives, reimbursements, and statutory deductions
- Coordinate with the Human Resources team to ensure payroll inputs are complete and accurate
- Prepare payroll reports, salary registers, and payroll reconciliation statements
- Ensure timely disbursement of salaries and statutory payments
- Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll information
- Support payroll-related audits and statutory reporting requirements
Accounts Receivable Reconciliation:
- Perform monthly reconciliation of customer accounts and accounts receivable balances
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between customer ledgers and the General Ledger
- Coordinate with the Sales, Operations, and Collection teams to resolve outstanding reconciliation issues
- Prepare ageing analysis and reconciliation reports for management review
- Ensure accurate accounting of receipts, adjustments, credit notes, and write-offs
- Maintaining customer Master data on Monthly basis
- Reporting Monthly MRR dashboard to the executive
General Ledger Reconciliations:
- Perform monthly reconciliation of assigned General Ledger accounts
- Investigate and clear outstanding reconciling items on a timely basis
- Maintain reconciliation schedules and supporting documentation
- Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled before month-end close
- Assist in preparing journal entries arising from reconciliation activities
Month-End Closing & Reporting:
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities
- Prepare reconciliation schedules for payroll, receivables, and other balance sheet accounts
- Assist in preparing management reports and financial schedules
- Provide supporting documentation for internal and external audits
Compliance & Process Improvement:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory regulations
- Maintain strong internal controls over payroll and reconciliation processes
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend automation where applicable
- Support implementation of finance process improvements and ERP enhancements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- CA Inter, CMA qualified, MBA (Finance), or equivalent professional qualification is preferred
- 3–7 years of experience in payroll processing, reconciliations, and financial accounting
- Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle Fusion or similar ERP/payroll systems
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, and data analysis functions
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and statutory payroll compliance
- Excellent understanding of General Ledger accounting and reconciliation procedures
- Experience in accounts receivable reconciliation and financial reporting
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to meet strict monthly deadlines
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Accuracy and timeliness of monthly payroll processing
- Completion of General Ledger reconciliations within month-end timelines
- Timely resolution of reconciliation discrepancies
- Accuracy of accounts receivable reconciliations
- Compliance with statutory payroll requirements and internal controls
- Timely completion of month-end closing activities
- Successful support of internal and external audits
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience working in a multinational or shared services environment
- Familiarity with payroll software and ERP-based finance systems
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on automation and process efficiency
AI Expectations:
- Use ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or similar AI tools to draft professional emails and improve written communication
- Leverage AI to assist with Excel formulas and routine productivity tasks
- Use AI to summarize information or improve documentation where appropriate
- Validate AI-generated outputs before using them in finance-related work
