Job Description

To evaluate, review, propose, and install technical security equipment to safeguard personnel and prevent unauthorized access to critical Company equipment. Equipment includes but is not limited to access control systems, alarm systems, recorded CCTV systems, motion detectors, intrusion detection systems, data communication, and fencing. Provide preventive maintenance and repairs to protective system hardware and software.

To protect the Companys personnel, fiscal, and physical assets using competitive technological security equipment and satisfying all regulatory requirements.

Independently provide on-site technical security system troubleshooting, problem diagnosis and resolution, and general support for the Corporate Security infrastructure installed at all company locations. Requires an understanding of the users business function to manage their technical security projects and meet the users requirements.

This position does not provide employment pursuant to the terms of a STEM OPT Training Plan.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise security communications and networked security systems within corporate infrastructure requirements.
  • Lead security technology projects, including system installation, configuration, integration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and deploy security hardware, software, communications equipment, and emerging technologies.
  • Conduct security vulnerability assessments to protect critical electric and gas infrastructure and ensure system reliability.
  • Coordinate with IT organizations and business stakeholders to deliver integrated security and network solutions.
  • Develop security strategies, technical specifications, and installation proposals for Company facilities and operations.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and oversight to employees, contractors, vendors, and end users.
  • Advise Corporate Security leadership on technology innovation, continuous improvement initiatives, and capital investment opportunities.
  • Install, maintain, and support advanced security technologies, including surveillance systems, servers, workstations, fiber-optic infrastructure, and specialized investigative equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and regulatory requirements while maintaining technical expertise through ongoing industry engagement and professional development.

Required Education/Experience

  • Associate's Degree and four years of experience or
  • Bachelor's Degree and three years of related experience or
  • Master's Degree and two years of related experience

Relevant Work Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting physical security projects, including access control, video surveillance (CCTV), intrusion detection systems, security devices, and hardware/software integration within corporate networks, required.
  • Perform security vulnerability assessments to help protect critical electric and gas infrastructure and support system reliability, required.
  • Support the implementation of access control, intrusion detection, and other security technologies to restrict unauthorized access to Company facilities and assets, required.
  • Working knowledge of network security principles, best practices, and security technology integration, required.
  • Understanding of fiber optic networking, required.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues and apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills, required.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, required.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills with the ability to balance technical and business considerations, required.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results, required.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, required.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, required.
  • Ability to effectively interact with customers, vendors, support personnel, and all levels of management while quickly learning and applying new technologies, required.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Other: Required
  • Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS) Relevant DFIR Certifications; GCIH, GCIA, GCFE, EnCE, GREM, CFCE or similar. Preferred

Additional Physical Demands

  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
  • Must be able to lift and rack equipment.
  • Must be able to work in all environmental conditions.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder.
  • Must be able to be on call around the clock.
