Your contribution!

As a Senior Specialist – Community and Government Relations, you will lead stakeholder engagement strategies supporting renewable energy projects. You will build trusted relationships with communities, governments and partners to support project success and long-term positive impact.

Your day-to-day!

  • Lead stakeholder engagement and maintain relationships with communities, governments and partners

  • Organize and facilitate public meetings, workshops and consultations

  • Develop communication materials and engagement strategiesfor renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, battery storage, and transmission infrastructure

  • Support permitting processes and public affairs initiatives

  • Monitor stakeholder sentiment and manage issues proactively

  • Collaborate with project development, environmental, engineering, permitting, and construction teams to align engagement with project timelines

  • Identify and support community partnerships and investment initiatives

  • Maintain stakeholder data and report on engagement outcomes

Your skills, our requirements!

  • 7+ years of experience in stakeholder relations, community engagement or public affairs

  • Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure or similar sectors

  • Bachelor’s degreein communications, Public Relations, Political Science, Environmental Studies, Community Development, or in a relevant field

  • Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to manage complex stakeholder environments

  • Project management and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of permitting and regulatory processes

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Additional considerations!

  • The position could be based at the company’s San Diego Office in California, or remote in the USA

  • This role requires approximately 25% travel.

  • This position is a P4 level.

Pay Transparency Statement

Compensation for roles at Innergex varies based on a wide range of factors, including skill set, education, and relevant experience. We are committed to pay equity and take internal equity among current team members into account when determining any final offer.

To support pay transparency, the hiring range for this position is $115,000–$140,000 per year, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. Your final base salary, if hired, will be determined by factors such as your skills, education, and experience, along with our commitment to internal equity.

Please note that it is not typical to hire at the top of the hiring range, as doing so limits opportunities for future salary growth. Innergex also offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package.
