Senior Specialist, Business Intelligence

The Senior Specialist, Business Intelligence will play a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision making by developing and delivering persona-based insights. This position requires deep expertise in integrating Databricks with enterprise data platforms, alongside advanced proficiency in Tableau and Power BI for visualization and analytics. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business challenges, translate them into actionable insights, and design tailored dashboards and reports that support strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership: Develop actionable insights from trend and competitive landscape analyses to continually improve the organization’s BI strategy.
  • User enablement: Design and implement BI solutions focused on persona-driven analytics, ensuring insights are relevant and actionable for distinct user groups.
  • Technical excellence: Develop, optimize, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Tableau and Power BI, ensuring data integrity and visual clarity.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, identify key metrics, and deliver customized solutions that address business needs.
  • Innovation: Leverage AI-assisted analytics to accelerate exploratory analysis, insight synthesis, and narrative creation, while validating outputs against trusted data sources.
  • Responsible AI: Apply responsible AI practices in BI deliverables by documenting assumptions, disclosing AI assistance when used, and adhering to data privacy and security requirements.
  • Accountability: Ensure compliance with data governance standards and security protocols throughout BI processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • 6-7 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data engineering roles.
  • Advanced skills in Tableau and Power BI, including dashboard design, data modeling, and DAX/Power Query.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver persona-based insights and drive adoption among business users.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Working knowledge of AI-assisted analytics and Generative AI concepts, including prompt construction and validation practices to ensure accurate, reproducible insights.
  • Ability to apply responsible AI practices, including appropriate use of approved tools, protection of sensitive data, and clear disclosure/traceability of AI-assisted outputs.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Exposure to procurement business and processes

Background in user segmentation, behavioral analytics, and personalization strategies.
