He angitūtanga: The opportunity
As a senior member of the team, you’ll help shape how Auckland Council is experienced by customers, building trust and confidence through consistent, high-quality brand experiences. Working closely with the Manager – Brand and Studio, you’ll play an important role in developing and embedding brand strategies that strengthen Auckland Council’s identity across the wider council group and with external partners.
In this varied and collaborative role, you’ll champion a customer-led brand experience across the organisation, partnering with communications and marketing specialists to ensure consistency across campaigns and channels. You’ll contribute to the development of insight-driven brand strategies, develop guidelines for the organisation on brand tone-of-voice, and drive the brand promise as a key component of major campaigns. You’ll also support the creation of brand guidelines and universal brand frameworks for all customer touchpoints, while helping protect and manage Auckland Council’s brand assets in partnership with the legal team. Alongside this, you’ll share your expertise by mentoring and coaching team members to build capability across the function.
He kōrero mōu: About you
We’re looking for an experienced brand professional who brings a strong understanding of brand management and a proven ability to develop and implement effective brand strategies. You’ll be confident navigating complex environments, balancing strategic thinking with a practical, hands-on approach to delivering high-quality outcomes. With excellent written and verbal communication skills, you’ll be comfortable building trusted relationships across a wide range of stakeholders and influencing outcomes through collaboration and sound judgement.
You’ll be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage competing priorities and deliver under pressure while maintaining a high level of professionalism and diplomacy. Politically aware and resilient, you’ll be comfortable working with a degree of autonomy and adapting to evolving priorities. Just as importantly, you’ll enjoy sharing your expertise, supporting and mentoring others to build capability within the team. A tertiary qualification in marketing communications or a related discipline will support your strong foundation in this space.
