Mastercard's is expanding its Clearinghouse capabilities in Mexico to support acquiring institutions and strengthen the domestic payments ecosystem. As a Senior Specialist, Acquiring and Cleaning Operations, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and ultimately operating Mastercard's Acquirer Clearinghouse model in Mexico. This position requires deep operational knowledge of acquiring processes, clearing and settlement, payment ecosystem interactions, and operational governance to ensure a secure, resilient, and scalable payment infrastructure.

The Acquirer Clearinghouse Operations Senior Specialist will be responsible for establishing and operating the end-to-end operational framework supporting Mastercard's Acquirer Clearinghouse in Mexico. This role will partner with acquiring institutions, processors, clearing participants, internal technology teams, Network Operations, Clearing Operations, and ecosystem partners to ensure operational readiness, service excellence, operational resilience, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational readiness, implementation, and ongoing support for Mastercard’s Acquirer Clearinghouse capabilities in Mexico, ensuring seamless execution of clearing and settlement operations.
• Manage end-to-end clearing and settlement processes, including validation of clearing files, settlement balances, reconciliations, exception handling, and operational controls to ensure accuracy and operational integrity.
• Monitor operational performance, oversee production support activities, and lead incident management, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to maintain service reliability and minimize operational risk.
• Serve as the primary operational liaison with acquiring institutions, processors, third-party service providers, and ecosystem partners, fostering strong relationships and effective collaboration across the payment’s ecosystem.
• Coordinate operational activities with key market participants and support governance frameworks to ensure alignment across stakeholders and service providers.
• Develop and maintain operational procedures, controls, and documentation to support regulatory compliance, audit readiness, business continuity, and adherence to Mastercard standards and local market requirements.
• Produce operational reporting, metrics, and KPIs to monitor performance, identify trends, and drive continuous operational improvement.
• Identify and implement process automation, workflow enhancements, and operational efficiencies to improve scalability, resilience, and service delivery.
• Support new product launches, market initiatives, and ecosystem enhancements, contributing to the ongoing evolution of Mastercard’s clearing and acquiring capabilities in Mexico.
• Represent the organization in industry forums and operational governance activities related to domestic payment infrastructure and market operations.

All about you

• 4 to 6 years of experience in Acquiring Operations, Payment Processing, Clearing & Settlement, or related payments operations functions.
• Experience working with acquiring institutions, payment processors, payment networks, or domestic clearing infrastructures.
• Strong understanding of:
o Clearing, Settlement, and Reconciliation processes
o Acquiring Operations
o Switch Operations
o Payment Network Operations
o Transaction processing flows
o Payment messaging standards
• Experience supporting production environments, operational incidents, escalations, and service management activities.
• Understanding of the Banco de México payments ecosystem and domestic payment infrastructure.
• Experience working with Prosa, eGlobal, or similar ecosystem participants is highly preferred.
• Fluent English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
