Financial Accounting & Reporting Specialist

As a Financial Accounting & Reporting Specialist, you'll play a key role within our Global Finance Services (GFS) team, supporting accounting, reporting, and financial control activities for ING's international operations. If you enjoy solving complex accounting challenges, working with global stakeholders, and improving financial processes, we'd love to hear from you.

You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality accounting and reporting activities that support ING's global banking operations. Working closely with international stakeholders, you'll help ensure financial information is accurate, timely, compliant, and meaningful.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare and process general ledger entries, invoices, accruals, and asset management activities.
• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare regulatory reports, financial reports, management information, and dashboards.
• Perform reconciliations and investigate accounting discrepancies or reporting breaks.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and ING's financial reporting framework.
• Support accounting and reporting projects, process improvements, and system change initiatives.
• Respond to ad hoc reporting requirements and stakeholder requests.
• Monitor and resolve issues that may impact reporting timelines or financial accuracy.

About the Team

You will join Global Finance Services (GFS), a global finance function responsible for centralized accounting processing and reporting activities across ING Bank. The team supports Financial Markets, Treasury, Lending, and Payment Services activities and works collaboratively across Amsterdam and Manila.

Required Skills

We're looking for someone who brings:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Knowledge of financial accounting and reporting principles.
• Understanding of IFRS and accounting controls.
• Knowledge of banking products, financial markets, or lending products.
• Experience preparing financial, management, or regulatory reports.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience working with stakeholders and communicating complex topics clearly.
• Comfort working in a global and multicultural environment.
• A proactive, flexible, and collaborative mindset.

Preferred qualifications:

• CPA certification.
• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Exposure to regulatory reporting or banking finance functions.
