The Sous Chef is responsible for all receiving functions in the Dining & Food Services Department, including verifying deliveries, maintaining records, and storing products according to food safety and departmental guidelines.
This role also supervises the Cold Prep team on the Cold Prep Sous Chef’s days off and supports production areas as needed.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Receive and verify deliveries; confirm product accuracy, quality, and temperatures
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of receiving areas, including dock, stockrooms, and waste areas
• Organize, date, and rotate product in coolers and freezers (FIFO)
• Work with Purchasing Manager to ensure adequate stock for menu needs
• Support Cold Prep operations as needed and supervise Cold Prep team during Sous Chef days off
• Perform other duties as assigned

QualificationsESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• High School diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years food service experience in a commercial kitchen
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• ServeSafe certification
• Knowledge of or interest in whole foods preferred
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
VALUED (NOT REQUIRED)
• Culinary Arts training
