The Senior, Sourcing Strategy supports the centralized sourcing efforts for Macy’s Private Brands within the Strategic Sourcing team. In collaboration with the merchandising organization, Private Brands, and business stakeholders, the Senior, Sourcing Strategy identifies sourcing initiatives—such as lead times, costing, and processes—that drive profitability and sales growth for Macy’s Private Brands. Key responsibilities include defining multi-year and annual sourcing strategies, establishing a global vendor strategy, and leveraging knowledge of core market strengths, vendors, and the competitive landscape.

What You Will Do

  • Support the Sourcing Director in developing and implementing strategic sourcing plans for Macy’s Private Brands apparel, including supplier segmentation, regional and vendor profiling, category mix, costing guidance, and growth/complexity analysis for Knits and Wovens.
  • Conduct research and analysis to evaluate opportunities and risks, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare and deliver presentation materials to the Sourcing Director.
  • Maintain key documents and tools, such as the 3-5 Year Source Plan, Annual Sourcing Plan, and Spend by Vendor templates.
  • Plan and coordinate the team’s travel schedules.
  • Compile reports and insights to prepare for overseas travel and key vendor meetings.
  • Assist the Sourcing Sr. Director/Director with planning and preparation for the annual Vendor Summit.
  • Collaborate with other Sourcing and Costing Analysts within the business area to identify and proactively communicate opportunities and risks to the Sourcing Sr. Director/Director.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
  • In addition to the essential duties mentioned above, other duties may be assigned.

Skills You Will Need

Strategic Planning and Execution Proven ability to support and implement strategic sourcing plans, including supplier segmentation, vendor profiling, and category mix analysis.

Advanced Data Analysis Skilled in analyzing large-scale data sets using tools like SQL, Tableau, and Alteryx to identify opportunities and risks.

Sourcing Expertise Prior experience in sourcing or related fields with a solid understanding of sourcing processes, lead times, and costing.

Proficiency in MS Office Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications for documentation, reporting, and presentations.

Self-Starter Demonstrates the ability to work independently, drive projects forward, and proactively identify business opportunities.

Analytical Mindset Sharp attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.

Communication Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effectively presenting findings and collaborating with stakeholders.

Collaboration Experience working in cross-functional teams, maintaining proactive communication with colleagues and leadership.

Organizational Skills Strong ability to manage travel schedules, maintain key documents, and coordinate team activities.

Adaptability and Independence Capable of performing duties with minimal supervision while effectively managing multiple responsibilities.

  • Candidates with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
