General Summary:

Qualcomm is seeking a Senior Sourcing Specialist, Substrate to support sourcing strategy, supplier management, commercial execution, and supply continuity for advanced semiconductor package substrates. This role partners with Engineering, Supply Chain, Product Management, Finance, Supplier Quality, Legal, Operations, and global substrate suppliers to ensure cost competitiveness, capacity readiness, technology alignment, and resilient supplier performance. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, supplier engagement experience, and working knowledge of substrate technology, cost drivers, and semiconductor supply chain dynamics.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage supplier engagement to support commercial execution, capacity alignment, cost competitiveness, technology readiness, and supply continuity.
• Lead or support RFx, supplier assessments, quotation analysis, cost benchmarking, negotiations, and supplier selection recommendations.
• Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, Finance, Legal, and Operations to align sourcing plans with roadmap, qualification, demand, and business needs.
• Track supplier capacity, lead time, yield, quality, technology roadmap, and delivery performance to identify risks and drive corrective actions.
• Analyze cost drivers, market trends, supplier investments, and regional supply dynamics to support sourcing decisions.
• Drive risk mitigation through dual-source, capacity assurance, business continuity review, and escalation management.
• Support supplier business reviews, scorecards, executive updates, cost reduction initiatives, and sourcing documentation.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, commodity management, supplier management, semiconductor operations, or related supply chain role.
• Experience with semiconductor, substrate, PCB, OSAT, foundry, or electronic component suppliers.
• Working knowledge of package substrates, advanced packaging supply chain, substrate manufacturing, capacity, lead time, yield, and cost structure.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong ownership and attention to detail in a global supplier environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or MBA in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• Experience supporting supplier business reviews, roadmap discussions, cost reduction, capacity negotiations, long-term supply agreements, or risk mitigation plans.
• Ability to translate technical, commercial, and supply chain data into clear recommendations for management and cross-functional teams.

Level of Responsibility

• Works independently on assigned sourcing activities and supplier engagements, with guidance on complex strategic, technical, or commercial decisions.
• Contributes to sourcing strategy, supplier selection, pricing analysis, capacity planning, risk mitigation, and supplier performance improvement.
• Exercises sound judgment to identify risks, evaluate options, recommend solutions, and escalate issues when business impact increases.
• Coordinates cross-functional inputs and prepares concise updates, reports, and management-level summaries.
• May lead workstreams, projects, or supplier initiatives supporting broader commodity sourcing and business continuity goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of Sourcing or related work experience.
OR
Associate's degree and 4+ years of Sourcing or related work experience.
OR
High School Diploma or equivalent and 6+ years of Sourcing or related work experience.

*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
