Senior Sourcing Specialist

• Clerk Grade 11/12 position with a salary range $154,231 - $178,369 per annum plus superannuation
• Temporary role (up to 12 months) located in The Rocks, Sydney CBD

About the role

The Senior Sourcing Specialist leads procurement and sourcing activities across Destination NSW, partnering with business leaders and stakeholders to deliver procurement outcomes that support organisational priorities and achieve value for money. The role is responsible for managing complex and high-value procurement projects, leading sourcing activities, and ensuring compliance with NSW Government procurement requirements.

Acting as a trusted advisor, the role provides expert procurement guidance to stakeholders, leads commercial negotiations, and supports informed decision-making across the organisation. The Senior Sourcing Specialist also identifies opportunities to improve procurement practices and manage risk to achieve quality business outcomes.

Working across a broad range of procurement activities, the role contributes to the development of procurement strategies, policies and processes that promote good governance, innovation and continuous improvement. It plays an important role in helping Destination NSW deliver efficient, effective and sustainable procurement outcomes.

About You

We are looking for an experienced procurement professional who can build trusted relationships, provide clear advice and confidently lead complex procurement activities. You will be a strong communicator who can explain technical information in a practical way and work effectively with a range of stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Demonstrated experience leading complex or high-value procurement and sourcing projects.
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• The ability to identify and manage procurement, commercial and operational risks.
• Sound judgement and the ability to balance business needs with compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on practical solutions and continuous improvement.
• Experience providing strategic procurement advice to senior stakeholders and influencing positive outcomes.
• A commitment to integrity, accountability and delivering value for money in a public sector environment.
