Job Description

  • Full time, 12-month fixed term contract
  • Be responsible for the development and execution of sourcing strategies across multiple categories for small to medium/high complexity projects
  • Base Salary $126,065 + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

Step into a pivotal role as a Senior Sourcing Specialist in the technology procurement team, where you’ll shape and deliver sourcing strategies across a diverse range of technology categories and project complexities. You’ll lead negotiations to secure the best value outcomes for the University typically with an enterprise-wide impact, ensuring every contract reflects agreed deliverables and meaningful performance measures. Success in this role comes from your ability to collaborate seamlessly with stakeholders, suppliers and peers, driving strong partnerships and exceptional results. You’ll have the opportunity to work in a collaborative and values-driven culture in a high performing team.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • develop and deliver strategic sourcing strategies that manage risk, meet policy and safety requirements, and ensure long term value for money
  • lead and project manage multiple sourcing events, including requirements gathering, market engagement, RFx management, evaluation coordination and recommendation development
  • contribute to procurement pipeline planning, governance and reporting to support effective organisational decision making
  • build strong stakeholder and supplier relationships, influencing and supporting customers to shape effective sourcing strategies
  • draft high quality contracts that accurately reflect negotiated outcomes and key performance indicators
  • drive value through skilled negotiation, continuous improvement initiatives and proactive collaboration across key stakeholder groups.

About you

  • extensive procurement experience in large, complex organisations, with strong knowledge of recognised procurement processes and specialised sourcing methodologies
  • proven project management capability and a track record of advising and supporting stakeholders while operating within compliance and process requirements
  • strategic thinker with the ability to quickly analyse issues, translate strategy into practical solutions and apply sound judgement
  • excellent communicator with advanced problem solving skills, including the ability to interpret, analyse and present complex qualitative and quantitative data
  • skilled negotiator and influencer, effective across diverse stakeholder and supplier environments, with the ability to drive strong outcomes
