Job Description

NOVA is an AWS Advanced Partner driving digital transformation for enterprises acrossNorth America. We specialize in cloud migration, modernization, and emerging solutionsincluding GenAI implementations. Through our VMware Freedom initiative, we helpcompanies navigate infrastructure transformations while adopting AWS innovations todrive business value and reduce licensing costs.
We are seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to lead enterprise cloud transformationprojects. With many organizations reassessing their VMware investments following recentmarket changes, this role combines infrastructure migration expertise with the opportunityto implement modern cloud solutions and explore emerging technologies like GenAI. You'llwork directly with enterprise clients to design and implement practical solutions that meetboth immediate migration needs and long-term innovation goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Solution Architecture & Design
  • Design cloud solutions using core AWS services for compute, storage, networking, and security
  • Develop cloud migration strategies with a focus on VMware to AWS transformations
  • Create architectural documentation and technical roadmaps
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate AWS services based on customer requirements
  • Support GenAI and ML initiatives as the practice develops

  • Migration & Implementation
  • Lead VMware to AWS migration projects from assessment through execution
  • Perform discovery of VMware environments and design target AWS architectures
  • Develop wave plans and migration strategies for application portfolios
  • Execute migrations using AWS Application Migration Service and related tools
  • Support database migrations and application modernization efforts

  • Customer Engagement
  • Participate in customer workshops and technical discovery sessions
  • Present solutions and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders
  • Serve as technical point of contact throughout project lifecycle
  • Document requirements and translate business needs into technical designs
  • Build trusted relationships with customer technical teams

  • Team Collaboration
  • Collaborate with project managers and delivery teams
  • Share knowledge and best practices with team members
  • Contribute to internal documentation and runbooks
  • Support pre-sales activities as needed
  • Participate in continuous learning and certification programs

Required Qualifications

  • Experience
  • 5+ years in IT infrastructure, cloud architecture, or related field
  • 2+ years hands-on experience with AWS services
  • Experience with VMware technologies (vSphere, vCenter) and virtualization concepts
  • At least 2 completed VMware to AWS migration projects (or similar cloud migrations)
  • Understanding of enterprise applications and their dependencies

  • Technical Skills
  • Working knowledge of core AWS services (EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM)
  • Basic understanding of Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation or Terraform)
  • Familiarity with migration tools (AWS Application Migration Service, Discovery tools)
  • Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, load balancing)
  • Basic scripting abilities (Python, PowerShell, or Bash)
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems

  • Certifications
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (Required)
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional (Preferred, or willingness to obtain within 6 months)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS Transform for VMware migrations

  • Exposure to GenAI/ML services (Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker)
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments
  • Additional AWS certifications

  • Nice to Have
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Transform's automated discovery and wave planning capabilities
  • Knowledge of other migration accelerators (Matilda Cloud, Migration Evaluator)
  • Experience with dependency mapping and automated migration tools
  • Familiarity with AWS Migration Hub and related services
