About the role

Our client, a leading multinational technology consultancy with deep Microsoft Azure capability, is hiring a Senior Solutions Architect, Cloud Data & AI (Presales). You will play a central role in designing and shaping data analytics and AI solutions on the Azure platform — partnering with sales, customers, and delivery teams to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, high-performing architectures.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role with high visibility across enterprise accounts. You will be the technical authority during the presales cycle: leading discovery, designing end-to-end solutions, defending architecture choices, and supporting commercial proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Solution design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design end-to-end data and AI solutions, and produce architectural diagrams and supporting documentation.
• Azure expertise: Architect robust platforms using Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, AI Foundry, Azure Databricks, Azure Machine Learning, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Cognitive Services, and Azure OpenAI.
• Data modelling & integration: Design and optimise data models that support reporting, analytics, and BI use cases while preserving data integrity and performance.
• Scalability & performance: Architect solutions that are scalable, high-performing, and cost-efficient, accounting for data volume, query complexity, and concurrency.
• Security & compliance: Implement security measures and best practices to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaboration: Partner with data engineers, data scientists, business analysts, and partner teams to deliver well-aligned outcomes.
• Presales support: Support proposals, RFPs, demos, and customer workshops; act as the technical lead during opportunity qualification and design.

What we need to see from you

• Demonstrated experience in solution architecture or presales roles, with a focus on data analytics and Azure cloud technologies (no specific years required — capability and recent project work matter most).
• Extensive hands-on experience with Azure services: Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Machine Learning, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI, and Power BI.
• Solid grasp of data modelling, ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and data governance principles.
• Ability to design secure, scalable, and high-performing architectures on Azure.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Commitment to inclusive, collaborative teamwork and continuous learning.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g. Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure AI Engineer Associate).
• Experience with Azure OpenAI / Generative AI architectures and responsible AI practices.
• Prior experience in a Microsoft partner or large systems integrator environment.
