Senior Solution Engineer

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

  • You should have a passion for excellence. Identify customer needs, then design technical and operational solutions to meet and exceed those needs. You will apply system level communication engineering expertise to provide pre-sales technical consultancy to existing and prospective customers to add value and drive revenue

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Review technical requirements from customers and provide connectivity solutions using SES GEO and MEO satellite fleet
  • Anticipate and uncover customer challenges, then solve them by applying engineering skills
  • Assist Sales to identify customer needs and drivers both technically and financially and collaborate with Sales through customer assessments, proposal development and the delivery of effective communications.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders such as Operations & Product team to deliver the required solution
  • Take lead in developing communication system design (satellite and terrestrial) and feasibility analysis to develop value solutions that address customer needs and SES strategies.
  • Review link budget results from Link Engineering Team and provide guidance to them, when necessary
  • Lead customer engagement for technical discussions and solution presentation.
  • Tracking key deal renewals and ensuring technical solutions are provided to Sales
  • Complete Sales Engineering tasks on CRM (Customer Relationship Management) such as Dynamics 365 and Salesforce
  • Facilitator for post-sales technical activity that requires direct interaction with customers
  • Willingness and ability to travel the region to meet business needs, whenever necessary.
  • Ability to occasionally work additional hours as needed to meet business demands.
  • Continuously seek to educate and train others on SES products, tools, and operations.

COMPETENCIES

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Knowledge in satellite communication engineering
  • Knowledge of and ability to create accurate link budget analyses using SES Engineering tools.
  • Intermediate knowledge of digital network communications and RF signal theory, digital satellite network architectures, basic level knowledge of VSAT networks and platforms, TCP/IP protocol suite and network protocols (unicast/multicast, VoIP, IPsec, QoS).
  • Critical thinking skills

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical or Telecommunications Engineering
  • At least 3-years of recent, relevant experience including:
  • at least 1-year of experience in satellite ground segment, and/or broadcasting and/or telecoms.
  • Knowledge in satellite capacity management processes or GEO and/or systems engineering and/or other pre-sales engineering functions.
  • Effective English language communication skills, both verbal and written; including the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge of and ability to create accurate link budget analyses.
  • Intermediate knowledge of digital network communications and RF signal theory, digital satellite network architectures, basic level knowledge of VSAT networks and platforms, TCP/IP protocol suite and network protocols (unicast/multicast, VoIP, IPsec, QoS).
