What’s the role?
You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how data and customer solutions come to life across the Unite Program. From early discovery through to supporting delivery up to System Integration Testing, you’ll take end to end ownership of solution design and data modelling that is secure, scalable and built to last.
You’ll work closely with business partners, architects and delivery teams to turn complex requirements into clear data products and enterprise aligned data models, primarily on Azure data platforms. This is a hands-on role where you’ll influence outcomes, guide delivery teams and help define reusable patterns that accelerate delivery and improve quality.
This is a full-time hybrid role, based on the Gold Coast Mian jin, Turrbal and Jagera Country, or Sydney Warrane, Gadigal Country, with three days per week in the office.
Major accountabilities
• Lead and define end to end solution design and build across data and customer pathways within the Unite Program
• Design robust solutions that are efficient, scalable, maintainable and aligned to best practice data integration
• Deliver designs that support reusability, non-functional requirements and architectural integrity
• Develop solution designs using patterns and reusable components to enable consistency
• Provide technical leadership to delivery teams, ensuring designs and data models are implemented to a high standard
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into secure and regulatory compliant solutions
• Review and approve solution designs and code throughout development, testing and production activities
• Ensure all designs comply with Westpac standards, processes and regulatory obligation.
What do I need?
• Strong experience designing end to end solutions and data models on Azure data platforms
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable data products and enterprise aligned data models
• Solid understanding of modern data ecosystems, data integration patterns and non functional requirements
• Experience working with database technologies such as Cosmos DB, Oracle, SQL Server or Teradata, with strong SQL capability
• Confidence engaging stakeholders and guiding delivery teams in complex environments
