About the Team

The South Europe Solution Consulting organization is a high‑impact team of domain experts and trusted advisors, spanning Italy, Spain, Portugal, and France. This team brings together Solution Consultants, Enterprise Architects, and People Managers, aligned to their respective markets and covering all customer segments and the full Workday portfolio across Finance, HCM, Planning, Analytics, and Industry solutions.
As Workday continues to accelerate its growth and to lead the market as an AI‑driven enterprise platform, this team plays a critical role in shaping customer vision, driving demand, and ensuring exceptional execution across the entire sales cycle.

About the Role

To capitalize on the significant opportunity in South Europe and scale our impact with customers and prospects, we are seeking a Senior Solution Consulting Director, South Europe

In this role, you will lead a growing organization of 45+ Workmates, including first‑line managers, Solution Consultants, and Enterprise Architects. You will be responsible for all segments (from Emerging and Mid‑Market through Large Enterprise and Strategic) and for the entire Workday portfolio.

You will drive an AI‑first, customer‑centric solution consulting strategy for South Europe, ensuring our teams are continually evolving their skills, stories, and selling motions to establish and reinforce Workday as the market‑leading AI platform for Finance, HR, and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and execute the South Europe Solution Consulting strategy aligned to Workday’s overall company goals, regional sales priorities, and our AI‑driven platform vision.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a diverse team of 45+ Workmates , including managers, Solution Consultants, and Enterprise Architects, building a high‑performance, inclusive, and accountable culture.

  • Own coverage and organizational design across Italy, Spain, Portugal, and France, ensuring the right mix of skills and capacity across all segments and the full Workday portfolio.

  • Drive operational excellence in forecasting, quarterly and annual planning, demand management, and execution against key business metrics.

AI‑First Mindset & Thought Leadership

  • Champion an AI‑first mindset across the South Europe Solution Consulting organization , ensuring every Workmate is AI‑fluent and able to confidently articulate Workday’s AI value proposition to C‑suite and senior stakeholders.

  • Act as a visible AI thought leader in the region , shaping the external narrative through executive workshops, industry events, customer advisory boards, and strategic partner engagements.

  • Continually evolve our solution stories, demos, and selling motions to highlight real, pragmatic business value enabled by Workday’s AI capabilities across Finance, HR, Planning, and Analytics.

  • Ensure the team is continuously upskilling in AI , from foundational concepts to Workday‑specific AI capabilities, so that AI is embedded in every conversation, proof point, and value case.

Customer Engagement & Deal Support

  • Personally lead and sponsor strategic opportunities with our most important customers and prospects, from discovery and value framing through to executive presentations and negotiations.

  • Ensure excellence in deal execution by setting high standards for discovery, storytelling, solution design, demonstrations, value articulation, and competitive positioning.

  • Foster a deeply customer‑centric culture , where the team consistently brings new ideas, co‑innovates with customers, and links Workday’s AI‑powered platform to tangible business outcomes.

Go‑to‑Market & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Sales Leadership on Go‑to‑Market (GTM) planning, territory and segment strategies, demand generation, pipeline execution, and forecast health across all four countries.

  • Build strong, trust‑based relationships with cross‑functional leaders across Product, Marketing, Customer Success, Professional Services, and Alliances to drive a unified “One Workday” approach.

  • Align and orchestrate Enterprise Architects and cross‑functional solution teams around key pursuits, account strategies, and industry plays to maximize impact on strategic deals and long‑term customer value.

Field Enablement & Talent Development

  • Lead field enablement programs to equip Solution Consultants and Enterprise Architects with the knowledge, tools, content, and best practices required to succeed in an AI‑driven market.

  • Build a strong management bench , coaching and developing first‑line leaders to scale the organization effectively and sustainably.

  • Attract, develop, and retain top talent , creating clear career paths and growth opportunities across markets, segments, and solution areas.

  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and innovation , encouraging experimentation, sharing of best practices, and data‑driven decision making.

Innovation & Market Awareness

  • Act as a change agent , leading initiatives that modernize how we sell (e.g., new AI‑centric plays, value frameworks, demo approaches) rather than simply managing existing processes.

  • Stay ahead of industry, AI, and competitive trends in Finance, HR, and Planning, and translate those insights into actionable strategies and enablement for the South Europe organization.

Partner with global and EMEA Solution Consulting leadership to shape and roll out global programs, while ensuring they are successfully adopted and localized for the South Europe market.

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Presales or Consulting in enterprise software, with strong exposure to Finance, HR, Planning, Analytics, or closely related domains.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of people leadership experience in Presales / Solution Consulting, including management of managers and cross‑functional presales teams.

  • Proven experience working with SaaS solutions (and ideally IaaS/PaaS ecosystems) across multiple segments and complex enterprise environments.

Other Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success leading large, diverse presales teams (30+ people), ideally across multiple countries and cultures.

  • Strong track record of partnering with Sales Leadership to build pipeline, drive deal excellence, and exceed regional or segment targets.

  • Deep understanding of the enterprise software landscape, including ERM/HCM/Finance/Planning/Analytics solutions and competitive dynamics.

  • High AI fluency and passion for AI‑driven innovation , with the ability to translate AI concepts into compelling, business‑relevant narratives for executives and business stakeholders.

  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and executive presence, with experience presenting to C‑suite audiences in both business and IT.

  • Proven ability to build and scale high‑performing teams, foster inclusion, and create an environment where people can do their best work.

  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, combined with a willingness to be hands‑on and deeply involved in key customer engagements when needed.

  • Fluency in English; additional proficiency in one or more South European languages (Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, French) is a strong plus
