Job Description

Do you enjoy solving complex problems, shaping technical direction and helping teams turn ideas into robust solutions?

As a Senior Solution Architect, you will help design and evolve cloud-based digital services throughout their lifecycle. You will work closely with Software Engineers, Product Owners, other architects and Security Architects to translate business and technical needs into secure, scalable and sustainable solutions.

This is a hands-on architecture role. You will stay close to implementation, guide technical decisions and help teams turn architectural direction into working software.

About the Role

Architecture at WirelessCar is a collaborative effort. As a Senior Solution Architect, you will help teams navigate complex technical decisions, create alignment across different perspectives and ensure that solutions work both technically and from a business perspective.

You will work across the bigger system landscape while staying close enough to the implementation to understand the challenges teams face and help them make sound technical decisions.

Your Impact

  • Design and evolve solution architectures for cloud-based digital services.
  • Work closely with Software Engineers, Product Owners, Solution Architects and Security Architects to turn requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Guide development teams in architectural decisions and help them evaluate technical alternatives and trade-offs.
  • Ensure that architecture addresses important quality attributes such as security, scalability, performance, resilience and cost.
  • Communicate architectural decisions and their implications clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Stay close to implementation and help teams turn architectural direction into working software.
  • Contribute to the WirelessCar architecture community by sharing knowledge, developing best practices and learning from other architects.

What We're Looking For

You are a technically experienced and pragmatic architect who can move comfortably between the bigger system perspective and important implementation details.

You enjoy solving complex problems together with others and can influence technical direction without relying on formal authority. You are comfortable explaining why a technical decision makes sense, listening to different perspectives and helping teams reach a good solution.

You also enjoy coaching and supporting engineers and see architecture as something that is developed together with the teams — not something created separately and handed over for implementation.

We believe you bring:

  • Experience designing and evolving cloud-native solutions, preferably using AWS and/or Azure.
  • A strong background in software engineering and modern Agile development practices.
  • Experience designing distributed systems and working with APIs, integrations and service-oriented architectures.
  • An understanding of non-functional requirements including security, scalability, availability, resilience, performance and cost.
  • Programming experience in Java, Python or similar languages, allowing you to engage meaningfully with development teams and implementation decisions.
  • Experience communicating technical concepts, decisions and trade-offs to different audiences.
  • Experience working collaboratively across teams and disciplines in complex development environments.

It would be a plus if you have:

  • Experience with Kubernetes, containerised platforms or similar cloud-native technologies.
  • Experience with system or data migration initiatives.
  • Interest in or experience with AI-enabled solutions, such as generative AI, intelligent automation, machine learning platforms or applying AI to improve engineering and product capabilities.
  • Experience with data-driven, event-driven or analytics-oriented architectures.
  • Experience with observability, DevSecOps, platform engineering or developer experience improvements.
  • Experience with technical risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Experience working with globally distributed development teams.
  • Knowledge of the automotive industry, connected vehicles or large-scale IoT solutions.
  • Relevant AWS, Azure or other cloud certifications.
