The Office of Sport is seeking an experienced and strategic senior lawyer with strong commercial and property law experience to provide expert legal advice and representation across a diverse portfolio of complex legal matters. Reporting to the Manager Legal, you will work closely with business leaders and stakeholders to manage legal risk, support informed decision-making and contribute to key organisational priorities.
This is an opportunity to play a critical role in delivering high-quality legal services across areas including commercial and property law , as well as a broader range of legal areas including litigation, legislative reform, administrative law and statutory interpretation, child protection, employment law, privacy, information access and other government law matters. You will also lead and develop junior lawyers.
You are an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience delivering high-quality commercial and property law advice in government, regulatory or similarly complex environments. You are also adaptable and willing to work across a broad legal practice, which may include litigation, legislative reform, administrative law, privacy, GIPA and other government law matters. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, can confidently manage competing priorities, and are adept at communicating complex legal concepts to a wide range of stakeholders. You thrive in a collaborative environment, demonstrate sound judgement and integrity, and have a proven ability to lead, mentor and develop others while achieving positive business outcomes.
