Position Summary

The Analyst will help expand SEIA’s supply chain data collection and analysis, contribute reports and products that help manufacturers establish domestic sourcing and customers, and support SEIA’s advocacy efforts on policies that impact manufacturing and trade. Supply chain analysis will include all components from top to bottom of solar energy and energy storage sectors, including module, racking, power electronics, EBoS, and battery components. 

This position will work in SEIA’s Research team to support other departments to meet analytical and advocacy needs, provide technical expertise, and keep up-to-date on the latest policy and market developments.

Core Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Develop, enhance and maintain existing and new research products covering solar and storage deployment. 
  • Maintain and enhance SEIA’s database of operating, under-construction and planned domestic manufacturing facilities, and further develop products based on this resource. 
  • Analyze total available supply stack in comparison to expected demand. Develop summary materials for internal, member and external use. 
  • Build demand forecasts by technology by analyzing recent data and policy drivers impacting technology choice by market segment. 
  • Produce ad hoc policy analysis to support SEIA’s advocacy in a rapidly changing policy environment. 
  • Contribute to reports for member and public consumption. 

Requirements

Professional Experience, Education & Other Qualifications

  • Strong interest in energy transition, solar energy, and energy storage
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree (or similar experience) in economics, policy analysis, business, engineering, or related fields
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Familiarity with the solar energy and/or energy storage industries in the U.S.
  • Familiarity with the basic components of solar energy and energy storage systems
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Preferably proficient in Python
  • Preferably familiarity with supply chains
  • Domain-related analytical tools

Working Conditions 

  • Position is full-time.
  • This position is based in the Washington, D.C. office.
  • SEIA employees in the Washington, D.C. region follow a hybrid remote and in-person office model. Employees are expected to work a minimum of 3 days a week in SEIA’s offices (or engaged in in-person meetings on behalf of SEIA)
  • Travel 10-15% based on locality



Compensation Range

  • $62,000 -$67,000 annually, based on experience, with an excellent benefits package.
