
Senior Software Test Engineer
Why This is an Exciting Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated Senior Software Test Engineer with strong UI testing expertise to ensure quality and compliance during the modernization of a critical government information system. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in functional and regression testing web applications, with a focus on user interface validation, accessibility compliance, and cross-browser compatibility testing.
Strong experience with UI automation frameworks, manual testing methodologies, and defect tracking systems is essential. You will validate that all system components meet federal cybersecurity requirements and government accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG) while ensuring a seamless user experience across the modernized platform.
Experience testing enterprise applications in cloud environments (AWS, Azure), performing API testing for backend services (RESTful services), and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) for automated test execution is highly valued. This role requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, meticulous documentation practices, and the ability to collaborate with development and security teams in a regulated environment.
Position Responsibilities:
Test Planning & Execution:
• Perform functional and regression testing of web applications
• Conduct user interface validation and cross-browser compatibility testing
• Execute manual testing methodologies for complex scenarios
Compliance & Accessibility Testing:
• Validate compliance with federal cybersecurity requirements
• Ensure adherence to government accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG)
• Test enterprise applications in Windows Server environments
• Verify security controls and data protection measures
• Ensure seamless user experience across the modernized platform
Automation & Integration:
• Develop and maintain UI automation frameworks for regression testing
• Perform API testing for backend services (RESTful services)
• Integrate automated tests into GitLab CI/CD pipelines
• Manage defect tracking systems and coordinate issue resolution
Collaboration & Documentation:
• Collaborate with development and security teams
• Document test results, defects, and quality metrics
• Provide detailed analytical reports on system quality and readiness
• Participate in and adhere to Agile software development methodology
Experience and Qualifications:
To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:
Required Education and Years of Experience:
13 Years of experience in Software Test Engineering roles or a highly related field of work with similar scope and responsibilities.
A Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for 4 years of experience and a Master’s Degree may be substituted for 6 years of experience.
Required Qualifications:
TS/SCI with an in-scope CI Polygraph
Extensive experience in functional and regression testing of web applications
Strong UI testing expertise including user interface validation and cross-browser compatibility
Proficiency with defect tracking systems
Knowledge of federal cybersecurity requirements and government accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG)
Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
API testing experience (RESTful services)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab
Proven experience with UI automation frameworks and manual testing methodologies
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in Agile development environments
Self-motivated with excellent analytical skills and meticulous documentation practices
Strong collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams in regulated environments

Pay Range:
