For our growing AutoStore business, we are looking for a Senior Software Test and Integration Engineer based in Lisbon, Portugal (Office near Parque das Nações / Oriente).

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Test & Integration Engineer to strengthen our WES Software EMEA team. This role combines software testing, integration, 2nd‑level support, and technical leadership. You will ensure the quality of our WES/WAF software, lead complex customer integration projects, and act as a technical escalation point within our 24/7 support team.

You will work closely with Software Consultants, Project Leaders, and Developers across EMEA and play a key role in stabilizing and improving our highly customized warehouse execution software.

Your tasks

Testing

  • Develop and execute test plans for functional, performance, security, and regression testing.
  • Identify, document, and track defects; collaborate with Development to resolve issues.
  • Define test strategy, best practices, and mentor junior test engineers.
  • Ensure test runs and results are delivered within agreed timelines.

Software Integration

  • Integrate WES software with customer systems (ERP, WMS, PLC/controls).
  • Configure interfaces and commission software onsite with project teams.
  • Train customers on system usage and operational workflows.
  • Maintain system documentation and ensure plant know‑how is up to date.
  • Lead complex integration projects and act as technical escalation point.

2nd‑Level Support

  • Handle escalated incidents in a 24/7 support rotation (6‑person team).
  • Troubleshoot issues, analyze root causes, and collaborate with Development on bug fixes.
  • Ensure clear documentation and handover between shifts.
  • Mentor junior colleagues during support shifts.

Technical Leadership

  • Plan resources and create shift schedules for the support team.
  • Ensure knowledge sharing, documentation quality, and onboarding of new team members.
  • Drive continuous improvement and challenge existing processes where needed.

Your profile

  • Technical degree in Software Engineering or related field.
  • 5–7 years experience in testing and integrating web/WES/WCS applications.
  • Proven experience leading complex integration projects.
  • Strong SQL and database experience (SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
  • Hands‑on experience with Selenium, Appium, TestLink.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar agile tools.
  • Solid background in 2nd/3rd‑level support in a 24/7 environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel (~10% EMEA).
  • Willingness to work in a 24/7 shift/on‑call rotation.
