Leidos is seeking a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer for our growing portfolio of Department of Defense programs. In this role you will help evolve our software quality assurance team while helping to improve software quality across many exciting programs. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. Primary Responsibilities

This position will assure software quality of various programs to a variety of Defense software safety standards. The scope also includes assurance to Leidos’ CMMI-DEV Level 3 process standards. Tasks include:

  • Developing software quality assurance plans and standards,
  • Working with customer software engineering and software quality assurance organizations,
  • Providing assurance of software requirements, design, coding and testing processes, software product assurance of documentation, code, and test cases,
  • Processing assurance audits, and
  • Overseeing supplier software quality assurance.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree.
  • 8+ years of relevant technical experience with a BS degree or 6+ years of experience with a MS degree.
  • Software engineering experience in real-time safety or mission critical software systems development using languages such as C, C++, or Ada.
  • Proven experience with software quality standards including NPR 7150.2C, IEEE 12207, RTCA DO-178C, or ISO 26262.
  • Software quality assurance on DoD programs is preferred. Software quality assurance experience in civil aviation, nuclear, automotive, or medical industries will be considered.
  • Strong analytical skills along with a personal drive for details and quality workmanship are a must.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • The applicant must have good communication skills.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to affect outcomes including the ability to persuade on technical topics.
  • Being self-motivated, paying attention to details, and working under deadlines are key elements of this position as well.
  • Demonstrate a pattern of ethical decisions and a commitment to integrity at the individual level that conform to Dynetics’ Code of Ethics.
  • Candidate must be a resident of or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen. Candidate must be able to acquire and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous software quality assurance experience in an organization appraised to CMMI-DEV Level 3 is preferred.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
