Job Description

Marriott has over a dozen Salesforce orgs, including one of the largest Salesforce implementations by number of users with the Empower platform used by over 100,000 associates across Hotels, Customer Engagement Centers, and Sales teams. We are looking for a motivated and innovative candidate to join our Salesforce Engineering team as a Salesforce subject matter expert. Our team will define and create the next generation of solutions to drive Marriott value and serve our business by leveraging current and leading-edge technologies in an innovative and impactful manner.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience/certification

  • 6+ years of experience and in-depth knowledge of Salesforce administration and development; security, standard objects, reports/dashboards, Knowledge, data management, and sandbox environments

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience with consuming web services

  • 2+ years of experience Lightning framework (Aura, LWC)

  • Strong understanding of lightning flows and trigger framework

  • Expertise in programming languages and methodologies (e.g., Java and Apex)

  • Solid understanding of web technologies, such as JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, XML, JSON, and/or Ajax

  • Proficiency in integrating Salesforce with other applications using Connected Apps and APIs

  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile, SCRUM, other)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in Computer Science or related

  • Salesforce developer/architect/admin certifications are pluses

  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Git, JIRA, Jenkins and Dynatrace

  • Experience in development of hotel property applications

  • Experience in Agile methodology environment

  • Familiarity with Salesforce Process Builder and Workflows

  • Understanding of Salesforce security controls

  • Leadership experience in a sourced environment

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Technical Leadership

  • Trains and/or mentors other team members, and peers as appropriate

  • Provides financial input on department or project budgets, capital expenditures or other cost/resource estimates as requested

  • Identifies opportunities to enhance the service delivery processes.

Delivering Technology

  • Performs more complex quantitative and qualitative analyses for service delivery processes and projects.

  • Facilitates achievement of expected deliverables and obligations of Services Providers

  • Validates completeness of requirements prior to Service Provider or internally managed team solutioning

  • Through the service provider or internally managed teams, plans and coordinates complex implementation overseeing quality control of application functional design, usability, functionality, and implementation.

  • Coordinates with Operations and Infrastructure Delivery teams for deployment and production support activities

  • Ensures all projects follow the defined development and business case processes

  • Ensures proper coordination with appropriate IT and vendor relations teams

  • Provides consultation for routine and complex systems development

  • Ensures early warning to the business stakeholder executives regarding degraded or missed service levels

IT Governance

  • Follows all defined IR standards and processes (i.e. IT Governance, SM&G, Architecture, etc.), and provides input for improvements to the appropriate process owners as needed

  • Maintains a proper balance between business and operational risk

  • Follows the defined project management standards and processes

Service Provider Management

  • Validates that Service Providers develop and manage respective aspects of a project plan (e.g., schedules, deliverables, metrics)

  • Makes short term plans for the team to effectively utilize resources

  • Monitors Service Provider outcomes

  • Reviews estimates of work effort for client projects provided by Service Providers for accuracy

  • Facilitates timely resolution of service delivery problems and minimizes the impact on clients
