Kanadevia Inova is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Systems & Service Solutions team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the design, development and commissioning of software and control systems for complex industrial and Energy-from-Waste (EfW) facilities. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will be responsible for developing PLC and SCADA solutions, supporting site commissioning activities and providing technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
Hybrid working between Farnborough office and home working.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and programme PLC and SCADA control systems, including Siemens Simatic S7, TIA Portal and WinCC, for industrial automation projects.
Commission, calibrate and configure control systems, instrumentation and sensors on-site, carrying out testing, fault finding and system optimisation.
Develop software solutions for measurement, control and regulation systems based on electrical schematics, process flow diagrams and project specifications.
Produce technical documentation, including operating manuals, software documentation and commissioning records, while providing technical support across departments and project teams.
Support hardware and software development throughout the project lifecycle, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and undertaking additional technical projects as required.

Degree, HND/HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Control Systems Engineering or a related technical discipline, with proven experience in industrial automation.
Strong experience programming Siemens Simatic S7 PLCs, TIA Portal and WinCC SCADA systems, with a minimum of 3–5 years' experience in a similar software engineering or automation role.
Experience with industrial control systems, instrumentation, commissioning and fault finding, with knowledge of networking, telecommunications and ERP systems (ideally Microsoft Dynamics NAV) considered advantageous.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver practical technical solutions in a collaborative team environment.
Excellent written and spoken English, proficiency in Microsoft Office, willingness to travel internationally and additional language skills considered an advantage.
