Job Description

Responsibilities

Peraton's Department of the Interior (DOI), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), and NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) have identified a critical gap in the federal government's ability to conduct comprehensive Endangered Species Act (ESA) research. While FWS operates an authoritative web-based platform for managing data for terrestrial and freshwater species, it does not currently include NMFS marine and anadromous species data forcing agencies to rely on separate, manual processes. This program closes that gap by integrating marine and anadromous species data into the existing FWS platform, creating a single, unified experience for all ESA-listed species.

Peraton is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead Information for Planning and Consultation (IPaC) website application architecture updates and API integration for a federal data migration program. You will design and implement the integration between the federal consultation platform and the cloud data infrastructure, enabling new species data to flow seamlessly into existing consultation workflows.

  • Support the establishment and maintenance of the demo environment for government demonstrations
  • Support interoperability testing by resolving application-layer defects identified during testing
  • Contribute to the IPaC UI and Logic Update Package, delivering all application-layer integration components including API connections, species display functionality, and joint agency consultation handling logic for government review
  • Support delivery of Updated DKeys and Consultation Package Builder Assets by implementing platform-side integration updates required to support new DKey content and consultation package assembly workflows
  • Execute production cutover application deployment activities per the approved migration playbook
  • Contribute to the Final Operational Playbooks by documenting application maintenance procedures and incident response protocols
