Job Description

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience in embedded or phone security design, including authentication, encryption, certificate management, and operating system security.
• Experience with boot and runtime firmwares, such as TF-A, UEFI, and ACPI.
• Familiarity with low-power SoCs and various CPU architectures (e.g., ARM, RISC-V, x86, MIPS).
• Background in open-source software development and a strong understanding of the security development life cycle (SDLC).

Responsibilities

• Develop low-level system software components for Pixel security, and design the cutting edge security features for future Pixel devices.
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Develop technical solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities, and contribute to upstream open source software projects.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
