At McLaren Racing, software is a critical part of how we innovate, make decisions, and ultimately improve performance on and off the track. We are looking for experienced Senior Specialist Software Engineers to join our Software & Data Science team and help deliver high-quality software solutions that support our Formula 1 operation.
We are recruiting for both permanent and fixed-term opportunities across a variety of projects. These range from long-term performance-focused software platforms through to business transformation initiatives aimed at improving engineering and operational workflows across McLaren Racing.
The purpose of this role is to analyse, design, and engineer innovative software solutions aligned to the needs of McLaren Racing. As a senior member of the development team, you will provide technical leadership across multiple projects, contribute to wider engineering initiatives, and support the development of less experienced engineers.
The Software & Data Science department is responsible for designing and delivering bespoke software platforms and tools that support every stage of the Formula 1 lifecycle, from aerodynamic development and simulation through to trackside decision-making and race strategy. We bring together software engineering, data science, machine learning, and DevOps expertise to deliver performance-focused solutions.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in the design and delivery of software solutions, working closely with stakeholders across the business while providing technical guidance and support to colleagues where needed.
The role is primarily based at the McLaren Technology Centre, with a blend of onsite and remote working. Due to the nature of Formula 1 operations, occasional out-of-hours and weekend support may be required.
Success in racing comes from bringing together talented people with different skills, perspectives and experiences. We're committed to building an inclusive environment where everyone feels supported and empowered to deliver their best work.
Every role has the potential to drive high performance. You'll be part of a team united by a shared ambition to push boundaries and embody our racing mindset. We invest in our people through opportunities to develop and grow, creating an environment where individuals and teams can thrive.
Alongside a range of wellbeing initiatives and development opportunities, we're committed to helping you build a rewarding career and make your mark at McLaren Racing.
