Job Description

At Pearson, our Oracle ERP platforms underpin critical business operations across supply chain, logistics, and finance. From order capture and pricing through to shipping, inventory, manufacturing, invoicing, and collections, these systems must operate with precision, resilience, and strong audit controls.

We’re looking to connect with experienced Oracle SCM Techno‑Functional Consultants to support and evolve our Oracle EBS and Oracle Cloud (Fusion) landscape. These roles sit at the heart of production support and transformation — combining deep technical delivery, strong functional understanding, and end‑to‑end ownership.

This advert covers multiple approved senior roles across our Oracle SCM domain.

What you’ll work on

You’ll play a hands‑on role supporting and enhancing complex, business‑critical Oracle environments.

  • Provide L2/L3 production support, owning root cause analysis and permanent fixes
  • Support and enhance Oracle EBS SCM and OTC processes, including:
    • Order Management, Advanced Pricing, Shipping Execution
    • Inventory, Procurement, Receiving, Warehousing
    • Manufacturing / WIP and BOM (where applicable)
    • Accounts Receivable and Collections
  • Design, build, and maintain EBS technical components, including:
    • PL/SQL packages, procedures, triggers, and data fixes
    • Inbound and outbound interfaces with validations and reconciliation
    • Concurrent programs and reports (XML Publisher / BI Publisher)
  • Support end‑to‑end flows, such as:
    • Order → Pricing → Shipping → Inventory → Invoice → AR / Collections
  • Work closely with warehouse partners / 3PLs to resolve shipment, inventory, and integration issues
  • Support implementations, upgrades, rollouts, UAT, cutover, and hypercare
  • Operate within hybrid EBS–Cloud landscapes, ensuring data consistency and process integrity
  • Build and improve monitoring, automation, and stability, including:
    • Alerts for stuck orders, pricing failures, interface errors, and SLA breaches
    • Controlled auto‑retry and reconciliation processes with audit logging
  • Create runbooks, knowledge articles, and standardised support processes
  • Support audit and compliance activities, providing evidence, extracts, and explanations as required

What we’re looking for

We don’t expect everyone to cover everything — but strong Oracle depth is essential.

Core experience

  • 8+ years’ experience working with Oracle ERP in enterprise environments
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Oracle EBS, particularly:
    • OTC modules (OM, Advanced Pricing, Shipping, AR, Collections) and/or
    • SCM modules (Inventory, Purchasing, Receiving, WIP, BOM)
  • Advanced PL/SQL skills, including debugging, tuning, and performance optimisation
  • Experience with EBS APIs and Open Interfaces, such as:
    • Order Import, Shipping/Inventory, AutoInvoice, Receipts, Items
  • Strong production support background in complex, integrated environments

Integration & ecosystem exposure

  • Experience integrating with warehouse partners / 3PLs
  • Exposure to MuleSoft, OIC, REST/SOAP APIs, EDI, or file‑based integrations
  • Ability to troubleshoot end‑to‑end data flows across systems

Cloud & modernisation

  • Working experience with Oracle Fusion SCM (Inventory, Procurement, PIM, Manufacturing, AR)
  • Experience supporting EBS–Cloud coexistence or hybrid landscapes
  • Familiarity with FBDI/ADFDI, REST services, and BI extracts

Governance & controls

  • Experience working in audit‑controlled environments (SOX or similar)
  • Understanding of segregation of duties, access controls, approval workflows, and audit trails

Nice to have

  • Oracle EBS or Oracle Cloud SCM certifications
  • Exposure to Supply Chain Planning (ASCP / Supply Planning)
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change)

Why these roles are different

  • You’ll work on systems that genuinely matter — failures have real operational impact
  • You’ll have end‑to‑end ownership, not just ticket resolution
  • You’ll balance hands‑on technical delivery with process, stability, and control
  • You’ll help modernise and stabilise Oracle platforms while supporting day‑to‑day operations
  • You’ll be valued for depth, judgement, and reliability, not just speed
