Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineers to join Snapp’s Map and help build reliable, scalable backend and data systems that power critical products across the platform.

You will work on high-throughput services and large-scale data systems used by millions of users. Your work will directly influence the quality, performance, and reliability of Snapp’s Map products and platforms.

-As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, build, test, deploy, and operate scalable services, primarily using Golang.

-You will solve engineering challenges involving high-throughput APIs, distributed systems, large datasets, geospatial information, and reliable data processing. You will collaborate with product managers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, and other engineering teams to turn business requirements and technical ideas into dependable production systems.

-As a senior member of the team, you will contribute to architectural decisions, lead complex technical initiatives, and help improve engineering practices. You will support other engineers through mentoring, design discussions, and constructive code reviews.

-You will take ownership of the complete lifecycle of the systems you build—from design and implementation to rollout, monitoring,performance optimization, and production support. You will also participate in the on-call rotation and help maintain the availability of business-critical services.

Requirements

• -Strong proficiency in Golang and significant experience building production backend services or microservices.
• -Strong software engineering fundamentals, including clean architecture, maintainable code, automated testing, code reviews, and version control.
• -Experience designing scalable, reliable, and low-latency distributed systems.
• -Experience working with relational or NoSQL databases, caching systems, and message brokers.
• -Familiarity with cloud technologies, containerization, and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• -Solid understanding of concurrency, networking, API design, and failure handling.
• -Experience operating production services, including monitoring, observability, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
• -Ability to lead technical design and turn ambiguous requirements into clear, deliverable solutions.
• -Strong ownership mindset and the ability to take projects through design, implementation, rollout, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• -Willingness to participate in on-call support for business-critical systems.
• -Hands-on experience with AI-assisted software development and agentic coding workflows.

Nice to Have

• -Familiarity with geospatial concepts and technologies such as spatial indexing, coordinate systems, PostGIS.
• -Experience with Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, or other search and text-retrieval technologies.
• -Familiarity with information retrieval concepts such as indexing, query processing, relevance scoring, ranking, normalization, and spell correction.
• -Understanding of fundamental machine learning concepts, including model training, evaluation, feature engineering, and inference.
• -Familiarity with recommendation, ranking, classification, or prediction systems.
