We invite a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and help build and modernize a SaaS platform that provides customer engagement and data-driven marketing solutions for the quick-service restaurant industry. Our client is a leading provider of POS solutions, partnering with some of the world's largest restaurant brands across the US. In this role, you'll contribute to ongoing platform modernization, including the migration from Java 8 to Java 17, MySQL upgrades, and other backend enhancements.

✅ Is that you?

• 5+ years of experience developing scalable Java backend applications
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 8 through Java 17
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design and design patterns
• Strong knowledge of multithreading and concurrency
• Strong experience with MySQL or other relational databases
• Experience writing unit tests using JUnit and Mockito
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably GCP
• Experience with Kubernetes or similar orchestration platforms
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging complex applications
• Proficiency with Linux and shell scripting
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional Scrum teams
• Upper-Intermediate+ English level

Desirable:

• Experience with Groovy
• Experience with Gradle
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Java version migrations or database modernization initiatives

🧩 Key responsibilities and your contribution

In this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deliver scalable, high-quality backend solutions.

• Design, develop, and maintain Java backend applications and services
• Contribute to the migration of services from Java 8 to Java 17
• Contribute to database modernization initiatives, including MySQL upgrades
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, security, and adherence to architectural standards
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues
• Work closely with developers, QA engineers, and product stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
• Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to solution design
• Create and maintain technical documentation to support development efforts
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives)
