Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. We’re looking for a Software Engineer Senior to join our ever-evolving Alternative Payment Methods delivery team and help us unleash the potential of every business.
What you’ll own
Design, implement, test, deploy, and run scalable, highly available microservices for APM.
Lead and contribute to system design: define service boundaries, data models, APIs, SLAs/SLOs, and integration patterns.
Accelerate time-to-market by simplifying architectures, reducing toil, and maximizing automation across CI/CD, testing, infrastructure, and operations.
Prototype and validate new approaches and integrations; productionize successful experiments.
Participate in the production support rota (on-call), ensuring robust observability, incident response, and post-incident reviews.
Instrument services and build tooling to enable data-driven decisions.
Contribute to architecture, design reviews, performance, security, and reliability work.
Collaborate across teams on technology choices, patterns, and shared components to avoid duplication and speed delivery.
Coach and review work of less experienced engineers.
What you'll bring
Strong experience building and operating large-scale cloud microservices
Proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, Docker
Solid TDD and automated testing practice; quality-first, test-first mindset
Strong system design skills for distributed systems (fault tolerance, partitioning, consistency models, idempotency, retries/backoff, timeouts, circuit breakers)
Track record of improving developer productivity and release velocity (e.g., CI/CD optimizations, tooling, automation)
Comfortable with Agile delivery and continuous improvement
Fluent in English (written and verbal)
It’s a bonus if you have
Kubernetes, AWS, OpenShift
Kafka or other messaging systems
Payments domain experience (cards, APMs, scheme integrations)
PCI-DSS exposure
