Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in software development.
• Experience in programming with Python.
• Experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Machine Learning or Data Science.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in building end-to-end software architectures that use agentic or Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) motivated capabilities.
• Experience with Generative AI, AI Agents, or related technologies.
• Experience as a customer-facing or forward-deployed engineer or a related role (e.g., sales or solution engineering).
• Knowledge of responsible AI principles and best practices.

In this role, you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.The Google Cloud AI Research team addresses AI challenges motivated by Google Cloud’s mission of bringing AI to tech, healthcare, finance, retail and many other industries. We work on a range of unique problems focused on research topics that maximize scientific and real-world impact, aiming to push the state-of-the-art in AI and share findings with the broader research community. We also collaborate with product teams to bring innovations to real-world impact that benefits our customers.

Responsibilities

• Write and test product or system development code.
• Lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to select among available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
