Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) - Remote (U.S.) – 1813

Compensation: $180K-$250K - based on experience + equity

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications used in production.
• Build reliable backend services and APIs supporting high-volume traffic and mission-critical workflows.
• Architect and optimize relational database models for performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
• Partner closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-impact features.
• Contribute to frontend development using modern JavaScript frameworks while maintaining strong backend ownership.
• Improve infrastructure, deployment processes, observability, and overall system reliability.
• Help evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, including AI-powered development workflows where appropriate.
• Participate in architectural discussions and mentor engineers through technical leadership.

What We're Looking For

Required Experience

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 5 years operating at a Senior or Staff Engineer level.
• Proven success building and shipping customer-facing software products from initial design through production deployment.
• Experience working within software-first organizations where engineering is central to the business.
• Background contributing to rapidly growing technology companies or organizations known for engineering excellence.
• Strong experience designing complex relational database architectures.
• Demonstrated ability to build scalable distributed systems running in cloud environments.

Technical Skills

• Expert-level proficiency with TypeScript in modern production applications.
• Strong experience with modern backend technologies such as Node.js and Express.
• Frontend expertise using React or similar component-based frameworks.
• Experience building GraphQL APIs and working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with containerized applications and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience deploying and managing applications using AWS and infrastructure-as-code tooling.
• Understanding of software reliability, monitoring, automation, and operational best practices.
• Exposure to AI-enabled product development, experimentation, or machine learning workflows is a plus.

Preferred Background

• Experience within SaaS, developer tools, infrastructure, or financial technology environments.
• Contributions to open-source software or an active public GitHub portfolio are a plus.
• Personal technical projects demonstrating curiosity and craftsmanship are highly valued.
