The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining backend systems that support large-scale payment processing operations. The role requires strong technical ownership, problem-solving capabilities, and collaboration across multiple teams to deliver reliable and efficient solutions.

• Design and develop scalable backend services, REST APIs, and cloud-based functions supporting payment processing and transaction management systems.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to maintain platform stability.
• Identify performance bottlenecks, improve system resilience, and reduce operational incidents through proactive engineering practices.
• Collaborate with product teams, vendors, and external partners to resolve integration challenges and optimize transaction flows.
• Contribute to new feature development, platform enhancements, and modernization initiatives.
• Identify and address technical debt while ensuring maintainable, secure, and scalable architecture.
• Promote best practices across software development, testing, code reviews, and deployment processes.
• Support continuous improvement through Agile methodologies, engineering excellence, and effective technical communication.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced backend engineer with strong expertise in cloud technologies, distributed systems, and software design. You should be comfortable working on business-critical platforms, solving complex technical challenges, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong backend development experience with Java (Java 17+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Maven) and Python.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including ECS Fargate, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, S3, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, SSM Parameter Store, and Secrets Manager.
• Experience designing, developing, and operating distributed systems and microservices in production environments.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, Docker, AWS CDK, and monitoring tools.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design principles, and computational complexity.
• Proven ability to debug and resolve complex, time-sensitive production issues.
• Experience working with Agile development practices and continuous improvement processes.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with digital payments, POS integrations, retail technology, or other transaction-based systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with observability platforms such as Grafana, CloudWatch, or Application Insights is a plus.
