Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, ChartCheck based in Canada.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will help advance software that supports safer, more efficient cancer treatment planning workflows. You will contribute across the full stack, building and maintaining browser-based applications that serve healthcare professionals around the world. The role combines hands-on software development with technical leadership, collaboration, and mentorship. You will work closely with distributed engineering and cross-functional teams to design scalable, secure, and reliable solutions. Your work will directly contribute to improving clinical workflows and supporting higher-quality patient care. This is an opportunity to join a fully remote, mission-driven environment where thoughtful engineering can have a meaningful impact.

Accountabilities:

    • Develop, enhance, and maintain full-stack functionality for a browser-based clinical application, working across both frontend and backend systems.
    • Design and build modern web applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, and contemporary web development technologies.
    • Design, develop, integrate, and maintain RESTful APIs and supporting backend services.
    • Collaborate with engineering, product, and other cross-functional teams to deliver innovative software solutions for cancer treatment centers.
    • Participate actively in code reviews and promote high standards for code quality, maintainability, testing, and engineering practices.
    • Track development activities independently and transparently through tickets, project workflows, and established delivery processes.
    • Support teammates through technical knowledge sharing, collaboration, mentorship, and constructive feedback.
    • Contribute to secure, compliant, and risk-aware software development practices within a healthcare and clinical technology environment.
    • Help shape scalable product capabilities and contribute to new development initiatives that improve the safety, efficiency, and quality of radiation oncology workflows.
    • Requirements

      • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience; a Master’s degree is preferred.
      • Deep programming expertise in JavaScript and/or TypeScript, particularly within browser-based environments.
      • Proven experience building, deploying, and maintaining production web applications using modern JavaScript or TypeScript technologies.
      • Strong full-stack development experience spanning frontend and backend systems.
      • Hands-on experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs.
      • Experience working with databases such as MongoDB, Microsoft SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
      • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, testing, code quality, and secure development practices.
      • Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, communicate progress clearly, and take ownership of deliverables.
      • Collaborative mindset with a strong sense of shared ownership and a willingness to support and mentor colleagues.
      • Adaptability and a continuous-learning mindset suited to a fast-moving and evolving technical environment.
      • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to approach technical challenges thoughtfully and systematically.
      • Preferred experience with C#/.NET and WPF/C#.NET development.
      • Preferred experience with clinical programming standards such as HL7 or DICOM.
      • Experience working in HIPAA-regulated or medical-device software environments is an asset.
      • Familiarity with cybersecurity, software risk management, and healthcare technology compliance is an asset.
      • Experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as Lit, React, Angular, Vue, Svelte, or comparable technologies is an asset.
      • Benefits

        • Competitive compensation with a salary range of $150,000–$180,000 USD, plus bonus eligibility; compensation for Canadian employees may be structured according to local market and employment arrangements.
        • Fully remote work environment designed to support distributed teams and flexible collaboration.
        • Health and wellness benefits aligned with local requirements and standards for international employees.
        • Locally compliant and competitive benefits packages for employees outside the United States, supporting health, financial security, and work-life balance.
        • Professional development opportunities, including continued learning, conference participation, and professional membership support where applicable.
        • Flexible paid time off and paid holidays, subject to local employment arrangements.
        • Company-provided laptop and support for home-office setup, where applicable.
        • Internet stipend and other remote-work support, depending on location.
        • Virtual team events and opportunities to connect with colleagues through company-wide activities and retreats.
        • Inclusive, mission-driven culture focused on collaboration, continuous learning, and meaningful impact.
        • Opportunity to contribute directly to technology that helps improve cancer treatment workflows and patient care.
