This software engineer will help our developers optimize our current app integrating best practices—whether in a single line of code or the entire architecture. Autonomy goes hand in hand with communication.Being a Senior Software Engineer at Swile means positively impacting the lives of our clients and users by making data-driven decisions and ensuring efficiency, stability, and performance in our applications. By translating product visions into software, we solve complex problems that enable a unique, stable, and functional experience for everyone.As backend engineers, we work on applications such as REST APIs, dashboards, tools, and internal services that allow our clients and users to access their benefits flexibly, easily, and reliably whenever needed.
Main responsibilities 🧩
Software EngineeringWrite high-quality, well-documented, efficient, tested, and maintainable codeEnsure and improve observability and monitoring of our applicationsProactively focus on enhancing other team members’ technical skills, coding standards, and overall code qualityLearn new programming languages when neededActively work on improving the security, performance, and stability of applicationsConduct and receive high-quality code reviews Design and ArchitectureProvide technical guidance by contributing to informed, objective, and simple solution discussionsPropose architectural solutions, collaborating and mentoring other team members to meet both functional and non-functional requirements Execution and DeliveryEstimate and plan timelines for deliverables with stakeholders and the product teamLeverage existing Swile solutions to align with global platformsWork with loosely defined or ambiguous requirements to help shape better solutions alongside product and team membersBuild incremental solutions with the product team to promote continuous improvement and deliveryFocus on delivering well-tested and automated features, including E2E tests, to ensure application stabilityMonitor and respond to incidents in production LeadershipLead projects, ensuring delivery within estimated timelinesHelp technically grow team members by being a role modelParticipate in hiring processes for engineers at the same or lower levels
Minimum Requirements ✅
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields—or equivalent practical experienceProfessional experience in software engineering using Java or KotlinExperience in designing and developing distributed systemsExperience with technologies such as Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similarExperience with relational and non-relational databasesClear and effective communication skillsAdvanced English C1 level
