Your Role

This role sits at the intersection of AI engineering, product innovation, and partner enablement.

The Senior AI Engineer will design, build and operate production‑grade AI agents that support Flybuys’ external offers ecosystem, partner integrations, and emerging agentic commerce models.

The role requires strong technical depth, architectural judgment, and the ability to work pragmatically across evolving platforms and partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, production‑ready AI agents, not prototypes or ad‑hoc workflows.
• Define agent responsibility boundaries, orchestration patterns, and failure modes.
• Enable partner integration into Flybuys AI capabilities using well‑designed APIs and agent interfaces.
• Work flexibly across Azure, AWS, Snowflake and adjacent data/AI platforms (e.g. Fabric).
• Integrate AI agents with existing Flybuys platforms, partner systems, and high‑volume transaction services.
• Contribute to patterns for agent interoperability and emerging protocols (e.g. MCP‑style approaches).
• Model and forecast runtime and infrastructure costs associated with AI agents.
• Actively optimise cost, performance, and reliability as part of solution design.
• Build in observability, monitoring, and recovery from the outset.
• Work closely with product, partnerships, and architecture to translate business intent into scalable AI solutions.
• Provide technical input into roadmap discussions for agent‑driven offers and commerce capabilities.

Your Experience

• Strong experience building and deploying AI‑powered systems into production environments.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS and/or Snowflake).
• Experience integrating AI systems with APIs, event‑driven services, and transactional back‑ends.
• Understanding of non‑functional requirements: security, observability, resilience, and compliance.
• Practical experience modelling and managing cloud and AI operating costs.
• Pragmatic and outcome‑focused, with a bias toward production quality.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity as technology and platforms evolve.
• Strong communication skills, able to explain complex AI concepts to non‑specialists.
• Collaborative mindset, with the confidence to challenge design decisions constructively.
